Evaluation Filming

Today me and georgia with contribution from the group as a whole filmed an interview discussing the feedback we received from our questionnaires. We planned out what we were going to say and printed off prompts to help us when explaining the feedback and discussing our views. We will use this footage to help us answer question 3. Constructing a film sequence also incorporating snips from our trailer to help explain.

Video will be uploaded soon..

Questionnaire Feedback

1. Overall all our viewers enjoyed watching the trailer, and they all said how professional and in keeping with the horror genre it was.

2. There was a variety of opinions to what their favourite part was. All were mainly clips including Katie. Various parts included the surveillance scene where Katie is sitting on a chair in a white room and the quick takes between Katie's face on the screen and her gradually crawling towards us.

3. The most common answer we received was the music and titles. Everyone said how they believe they both added great effect to the trailer.

4. The things that people thought could have been improved were the voice overs and the storyline. They believe that the voice overs weren't loud enough and were difficult to understand. The storyline was unclear and they weren't really sure what was going on, but they did however pick up the general idea of a disturbed child following in her mothers footsteps.

5. The feedback we received from this question was mixed. Some were unsure and some had a slight idea of what they thought it could be about. Many said the titles told a story, therefore helping them to understand the plot.

6. The first comment we got when a few people started viewing the trailer was how scary the main character was, accompanied by her make-up and costume. These aspects made the overall performance look more professional and realistic. The comments that were made was that the make-up wasn't too over the top which gave Katie a really creepy effect.

7. Although the people who took part in completing our questionnaires weren't media students they understood the concept of editing and were therefore able to comment on what they believed worked well and also what didn't work as well. They commented on the length of the surveillance and suggested that if they were made shorter they would be more effective.

8. The average rating out of 10 was 8.
